Illinois Assistant is a generative AI search tool embedded into the Illinois App to guide you through your Illinois experience. It can answer questions about the university and help you find information in the app and online.
Illinois Chat
Eligibility: Faculty, Staff & Students
Data: Public and internal data only.
Illinois Chat is a university-developed chatbot platform which allows the university community to build and share their own AI chatbots, giving them control over data sources, content and functionality.
Microsoft Copilot Chat
Eligibility: Faculty, Staff & Students

Training: Microsoft’s Beginner Modules
Copilot Chat is a secure AI-powered chat assistant, letting you ask questions, create summaries, brainstorm, draft content and more without leaving your workflow. It is integrated into most Microsoft 365 apps but is only able to access content from the app you are using or the web.
Zoom AI Companion
Eligibility: Faculty, Staff & Students

Zoom AI Companion provides meeting summaries, message summaries, post-call summaries, transcripts and more. Some features may be limited due to our HIPAA-secured environment.

ChatGPT Edu

Training: OpenAI Academy
Faculty and staff are now able to access an educational license version of ChatGPT to support teaching, research and administrative work. This version includes features tailored for academic and professional use, with privacy and security in mind.
Microsoft 365 Suite Copilot Add-On

The Copilot add-on allows full integration of copilot chat across your Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Allows for searching and generating grounded in all your organizational data at once regardless of what M365 add you’re using.
Microsoft Teams Premium

Provides AI capabilities to summarize meetings, auto-generate a task list, translate and provide real-time transcripts and navigate meeting recordings with personalized time markers.

GitHub Copilot is an “AI pair programmer” that uses machine learning models to suggest code completions, generate code snippets, and help with documentation or boilerplate — aiming to speed up writing code across many languages.
Google Gemini

Gemini is a multimodal large language model that can process text, images, audio, and more, allowing for rich conversational and reasoning tasks across different kinds of input.
Notebook LM
Eligibility: Faculty, Staff & Students
Data: Public and internal data only.
NotebookLM is an AI-powered research and note-taking assistant that lets you upload documents (PDFs, Google Docs, slides, websites, etc.) and then ask questions, get summaries, or extract insights — essentially turning your own documents into a searchable, interactive knowledge base.
