Generative AI:
- May not adhere to the ethical, professional and intellectual property standards to which university researchers and educators hold themselves
- May not comply with laws and regulations governing data and content use
- Often lack transparency regarding what is collected, processed stored and shared
- Can generate false, misleading or inaccurate content
- Could be collecting users’ personal information during interactive and conversational sessions
- May require new agreements or updates to existing contracts or agreements for lawful use
